Nice sound but a bit confusing to get working

i found the sound to be decent but hard to set up the levels. i am using a samsung 85 inch tv which did help it to setup after. i switched it from my previous 70 inch samsung.

I'm usung this product more than 6 months and this product is amazing i love it.Sounds like Cinema at home really Real, Side speakers and top speakers working awsome.The Bass from Subwoofer extremly deep and like Cinema you feel earthquake under your feet :) But couple of things i dont like it. : You have update funktion but not coming. Dolby Atmos just have to when the stream coded with or you buy bluray,from youtube ord Disney+ you havnt Dolby Atmos and not appiered on your device. I'm searching a DTS-X kodek video online i downloaded couple of but i didnt see yet in my device appering DTS-X NEVER!!! :( This HW-N850 havnt GAME MODE why?????? the update modell Q80r is a same just new name on it and have Game mode so i need aupdate wich one not coming :( But finally this is really awsome product i can recommend cinema feeling awsome sounds!!!

This the 2nd N850 Soundbar that I have had since January, 2019. The first one was returned to Conn's because the "base, treble" function did not operate. I am now having problems with the 2nd one. At first, it operated just fine. Then I could not get any sound from the unit. Had to use the TV speakers, which are pathetic. After trying to analyze the problem, and checking the owner's manual, the sound now switches back and forth between the TV and the Soundbar.

OK sound but no tuning tools

The N850 came bundled with my Sasung Q90R TV. Had i been buying I would have bought the full surround Q90 Bar. The Q90 TV has a room tuning tool but it doesn't work with Samsung Soundbars. Various sites suggest using a phone SPL meter to set this up but given the TV has the facility built in why not use it to set up Samsung soundbars? There are rear speakers available as a separate purchase for the N850 but they dont support ATMOS. Having invested heavily in a high end Samsung TV i feel a bit deflated with this product . It sounds OK but so do the built in speakers and I'd suggest the N950 or Q90 bar would be a much better investment.

Amazing sound bar for films and music

Amazing soundbar! The sound is incredible, and though the bar is massive I find it integrates very well thanks to a discrete design. It's actually funny to see that some people are wondering where the bar is. I'm glad also that it's compatible with Spotify connect, so playing good quality music from the phone is easy. I find the bar also very convincing when watching movies with clear voices and great action as well as music scenes. Basically I had never seen a soundbar with such a natural and beautiful sound before (there's nothing in it like the usual chemical soundbar tones). So why "only" 4 stars? Well, thanks Samsung for the Alexa integration, but in Europe, Google Assistant is much more widespread! So it would be amazing if you could add this :) I used to have the ability to ask google for one or another song with my old system and it was soooo convenient, I really miss this feature now. Especially as there's no jack connection on the sound bar (only HDMI and Optical) so it's not even possible to put an audio chromecast into it to make it Google Home-friendly :( The second problem is that the soundbar doesn't always turn on automatically at the same time as the TV (which is also a modern Samsung) and even sometimes the TV needs to be unplugged and the cables withdrawn and then re-plugged and so on to be able to get the sound through the soundbar again. Quite annoying... even though this may come from the TV!

The best decision I did with going with this.. I am having Samsung Plasma still and hence I connected with Optical Cable. Now I want to upgrade it with SWA-9000S but want to know what is the recommended distance between SWA-9000S and soundbar for optimum performance. Feedback: The Phone app needs improvements ; You should be able to control the woofer from app.

The soundbar supports Amazon music and not Spotify. I like the soundbar, but every time I reach out to support, they direct me to the user manual. When that fails, apologizes abound: "I am sorry there is no information at the moment".

When you purchase a new television another component you're probably going to need is a nice sound bar. I'm definitely a witness to say that it can be quite a challenge to find the perfect fit, so to say that I've been researching for the perfect sound bar for my 65 inch curved TV would be an understatement. Unpacking it out of the box you can tell right away the quality of the N850 just by how heavy it is, and when I say that I mean it in a good way it gives it a premium high quality feel, and on top of that it looks good as well. Connecting it to the TV was no problem at all, since I was connecting it to my Samsung TV it recognized the product without hassle and we were ready to go. The N850 has features such as Dolby Atmos, 5.1.2 Channels with 372 Watts of Power so at times it makes you feel like you're a part of the action on screen. Another great feature is the sound bar can play and stream music through Bluetooth so you can enjoy the highs and bumping bass of your favorite tunes. I mentioned earlier about the how heavy it was but it's also a nice to look at as well with it's rounded edges and steel grates it compliments your surroundings. After having the N850 for close to a month now I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. It fits well in my Samsung ecosystem and more than anything it performs well beyond what I would have imagined since yes, it's a sound bar for the TV but the fact it can stream music as well takes it up a notch on the rating.

Audiophile soundbar

I just set this up today and paired it with my QLED TV. The pair together really could not be a better match, even the TV remote works with the soundbar out of the box. This is an audiophile lovers soundbar, the sound replication is truly astounding for a soundbar, seems to fill the room from different directions. Overall I would rate this a great buy and money well spent. I have played music through it, played video games, and watched a few movies, the adjustments it makes for different types of audio are spot on. This is a plug and play system that also has great features you can adjust via the smart app, this is nearly perfect!

x-mass gift for the family I am not a tech guy just plumber . The sound out of the bar is very good 4.5. That said the sub will not raze or lower in volume and is vary finicky . We also got the rear speakers swa 9000s which will not link up either ,so we exchanged for a new set and now the led light will blink blue the go to solid then to red NO sound. I am super frustrated . And one last thing poor instruction manual .

Only criticism is that Dolby Atmos is not as good as I had hoped but I have high ceilings and maybe this is the problem. Also, no mention in the manual about "virtual" setting. Not sure what it does.

I have had the HW-N850 for the better part of two weeks now and the clear, loud sound it produces is amazing, even compared to the speaker/AV system it had replaced. Dolby Atmos is simply bad-a@@. I also am very happy with how music is produced as well. The 2 HDMI ports both handle Dolby Vision signals and video very well. Everything looks and sounds amazing as a whole. The bar/sub looks good, sounds good, and seems to be built very well. But it isn't all praise, the Samsung app is a horrible mess in my experience. To get the app/soundbar to work I had to remove and reinstall both the app and the SB from my Samsung account multiple times. After many attempts the App/SB has finally paired and appears to open and work as advertised. Also when watching a show or movie the sound will stop (the video keeps playing) and the only "fix" is to switch HDMI inputs back and forth. Pretty annoying. I initially bought the system open-box but after a week, for the lack of a better word, "blew-up". The bar made a horrible loud noise then all sound ceased to be produced. I don't blame Samsung as it was an open-box so who knows what the previous owner had done, but it was surprising still. I returned it and paid the difference for a "new" one. (both of the issues I stated above I did not have on the open-box N850)

I recently got this sound bar and all I can say is that this is the best sounding soundbar I've ever listened too. It's also plus that the setup is pretty much a no-brainer. That said the overall sound is still forward heavy and not as immersive as I want to. Fortunately, there is an option to include the SWA-9000S wireless rear speakers in order to make the system a 7.1.2 system. Still below the HW-N950. But the good thing though is that Samsung put the SWA-9000S on sale and that made a whole lot of difference when I purchased. So this is a fairly cheap way to upgrade your system if you can't justify the $400 price difference between the 950 and 850. With the rear speakers setup, here are now ambient sounds that I can hear which I didn't hear before. And with teh benefits of Atmos/DTS-X and Harman Kardon drivers, honestly this is the only soundbar that I've heard that closely resembles cinema audio. Of course there are other great sounding systems out there, but the sound signature is just different. I'd strongly recommend this system!

Very Good Sound Bar But There Are Issues

I purchased HW-N850 Sept 24 and I can say I'm happy with my purchase. I have the soundbar connected to my 2015 JS8500 through ARC and my Apple 4k Tv and Sony 4k blu Ray player. I had the Xbox one X connected but opted for Sony player. The sound from his is amazing and subwoofer packs a mighty punch. I have no issues in sound department. I do have tv sound and Xbox one X runnng optical. Let me tell you the bad and good with this product. Only two hdmi ports and for this price at least 3. I was force to choose between Xbox, Apple 4k and Sony 4k player. Xbox got hammer because I have Atmos through headphones as a work around on Xbox. My second issue is no calibration available at this price point. My third issue sound tuns off after several mins of inactivity. This is way to short. Maybe an hour or having options available. Lastly I cannot purchase n950 rear Atmos speakers. The initial cost is too high. Sonos allows you to purchase rear speakers for their system. Samsung can do better. Overall I'm keeping soundbar because of dts x, Atmos, Harman Kardon. Samsung withheld so 4 stars out of 5.

Unfortunately it does not connect to WiFi even through smartthings, even though they adverstise as such. Samsung support has given multiple excuses why it doesn't work but no resolution. I know it's not my soundbar because I exchanged it and the new one does the exact same thing.

I love the sound from this soundbar. The bass is enough to rumble my large living room. The sound takes over the room and sounds great from high to mid to low. Listening to the T-Rex scene from Jurassic Park on Netflix on level 40 (out of 100 I think) was amazing, from the rain to the roars. It really made you feel like you were in the movie. This is, of course, not as nice as a true dedicated setup, but it sounds fantastic and doesn't leave you with wires all over the place. For me, it paired with the sub automatically without issue, and I was able to download the app and connect with seemingly no issues as well. My ONLY complaint is that there seems to be no way to tell what signal is being processed by the soundbar. It doesn't seem to display it anywhere, there are apparently no LEDs, and it's not even on the app. This all seems rather strange to me, as I assume most will want to know if true Atmos signal is being sent to it or whatever. I am curious myself if I am sending it atmos or 5.1...but like I said, I cannot tell from the soundbar or the app. Maybe this can be fixed in the app. Anyways, the sound outweighs that issue. I love a true surround setup best for sure, but this is REALLY nice if you are wanting an easy setup of something that sounds spectacular. Your friends will be impressed!

I've been using the sound bar for a week now and I'm ready to give it an honest review. The N850 is just plain amazing. Dialog is crystal clear at all times and the syncs great with the other channels during action scenes. After apples update I was able to send Atmos and all I have to say is the I wish every program was in that format. It blew me away! I can go on and on about how much I enjoy this thing but I won't bore you. Now I have a few cons. I wish the add on rear speaker kit was the same one as the N950 and not the wired one, I just didn't want to shell out $400 for rear speakers. Second, only Dolby Atmos is displayed when it's on, I wish there was away to see what ever format was being used. I'm hoping future updates might change this. But overall I'm very please with my purchase.
